Seorang Ibu Terpinga-pinga Seketika.

We had the pre-valentine dinner and these are some of the spread available for tonight.
Bear in mind that these pictures are varies, taken from the courtesy of fellow diners and the ambiance was quite dark because our source of lights came mostly from the candles.

Combo Lunches

As mentioned in my previous post, 2 new malay restaurants opened for business three days after Sana Sini Cafe's official openning. As these two restaurants, Sana Sini Cafe also offer malay buffet spreads for lunch to its clientele consisting of students and lecturers from UNITAR, staff of Brothers and surrounding Banks and offices. As we are offering same kinds of foods at more or less the same prices, I saw a lot of redundancies leading to lots of food leftovers and wastages. Further more, our buffet spreads start at 11.00 a.m and by 3 o'clock the foods are already cold and look very unappealing to the appetite.

Considering our customers' need for quick and reasonably price and yet hot food irrespective of time, SANA SINI CAFE has for time being scraped off it buffet lunches but instead will be providing quick and hot COMBO LUNCHES. We offer 3 different sets of Combo Lunches to choose from to setiate the appetite. These Combo Lunches are accompanied by all day long Ala Carte Menu consisting around 40 different food items including breakfast spreads, Fried and Soupy Noodles and Rice, Brunches and Snacks, Pasta and Western.

So, to those who read this blogspot either through references, words of mouth or coincidently, please do drop by at SANA SINI Cafe to "Enjoy the Food.....Fill the Time .... Love the Feeling". At SANA SINI Cafe you are always WELCOME.

From HR Consultant to Cafe Owner

When I told my friends that I would be operating a cafe many of them were amazed and astonished. Being a HR Consultant and Practioner for more than 28 years, ones never thought that i would be inolved in foods and services business. Before, most of our conversations and discussions would dwell around HR issues though it was done over food in good cafes and restaurants in town. Yes! indeed I was surprised too. The decision came at the spur of the moment about 2 months ago.

As many of my friends are aware, my HR Consultancy has brought me to the international arena that I had to be away from my family most often. I have decided to slow down on my International HR Consultancy so that I could be at home, particulalry I am attending to an ailing mother of 85 years old. After leaving Malaysia for quite sometime, to make my presence felt in Malaysia would take some times. While in the meantimes I need to stretch the US Dollars to keep me financially supple for the next few years. Food business if it is done well would provide me with a steady cash flow. Insyaallah.

However my dear friends, the few obligations (which are known to most of you) which I have made through ASPIRE Human Development Center (ASPIRE) would not be sidelined. This is where my passion lies and gradually when the cafe can be independently taken care by my partner, I would again give my full commitment in the many activities that I have planned for ASPIRE. Currently ASPIRE is moving but rather slow.

Do give me your continuous support and encouragement.

Gong Xi Fa Chai

Happy Chinese New Year to all Malaysians.
Sana Sini Cafe will be closed during this festive weekend and will resume its operation on Monday of 11th.
Valentine's is just around the corner. So do not forget our promotion for that day.
:D

I just bought the Maxis Broadband package and I need to find a 3G modem so the cafe will be equip with WIFI soon.
Do anyone knows where can I find it and possibly the price as well? The children mentioned about Low Yat Plaza but that will be too far out of the way for me just to get that one particular devise. Thank you in advance.

Colek Gigi

Surprise! Surprise! Sana Sini Cafe was patronised by top ranking official from Jakarta (A Minister) who was on personal business meeting in Malaysia. He was accompanied by his wife and in-laws. Guess who brought him to our cafe? An unexpected friend of mine. We were indeed very grateful to him.

We were lucky as our buffet spread for the day includes Pecal - a famous Indonesian food. We did take the opportunity to introduce Nasi Goreng Sambal Belachan and Mee Goreng Mamak from our ala-carte menu. They finished that too. However at the end of the meals, one of them requested for a 'colek gigi' and that single thing was not available (yes, we own a cafe with no sign of toothpicks). My partner came to my rescue and save the day. This what she said:
"maaf ya pak.Kami masih baru masih serba kekurangan. Tapi kalau bapak bisa tunggu saya usahakan sekarang"

Dalam pada melayan bapak tadi, kami dapat membeli colek gigi and menepati kehendaknya.

He gave a very commendable remark of our food and service through our friend. We hope he would visit us again and again and bring more new customers along the way.

Tindakan rakan kongsi saya menepati one of our Cafe's axiom "You dine...we serve"

Terima kasih juga kami ucapkan kepada Encik Zainal, our very supportive friend.

And to the rest of our future customers, dont worry.. now toothpicks are available in our cafe.

Live and learn.

Taking a step backward to move 10 steps forward

We were closed last Saturday and Sunday. We used the time to take a step backward and analyze achievement of Sana Sini Café (SSC) after 5 days of operations. We received many feedbacks, both positive and negative. We accept negative feedbacks as challenges and take the positive feedbacks as a driving and motivating force to move forward.

We found that SSC was not operating on a commercial basis and the meals provided were similar to that of a home-stay program in a kampung in Kuala Selangor. We did not breakeven on those 5 days operation.

My partner and me were astounded. We thought as a homeowner, food business is ‘kacang’ and we could make it just like many other stall and restaurant owners have done. But we were wrong. Despite wanting to be motivated our spirit do get effected especially when we knew that another two restaurants serving Malay food opened for business on either side of our café three days after we opened for business. So at the end of business last Friday we have a brainstorming session on ways to improve our offers of food. We understand that to carry the name ‘café’ we must have a niche of our own.

In moving forward, we spent our Saturday interviewing new Chefs and on Sunday working with the Chef on new menu for Sana Sini Café. The new Chef has brought with him, his signature dishes and we hope soon his food followers would flock our café.
